Chevy has, since its genesis in the early 1900's, been deeply involved in racing, in both national and international racing leagues. Louis Chevrolet himself was a racer, for Fiat, and then later for Buick in the ALMS (American le Mans Series). Since its founder was a racer, Chevrolet's involvement in racing was inevitable. Chevy is involved in four major racing leagues. The company made a triumphant return to the IZOD IndyCar series this year, taking a victory in its first race. Chevrolet is one of the premier manufacturers in Grand-Am road racing, and has been since its founding. Chevy has the most wins of any manufacturer in America's most popular spectator sport, NASCAR. Chevy is on the forefront of the manufacturer's battle in the ALMS as well.
